Stock Sales
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd. report having held their usual weekly fat stock sale at Westfield on Wednesday' as under : Beef: An average yarding, and prices were slightly lower. Choice pens of extra prime ox sold at equal to 49s per 1001 b ordinary prime, to 46s per 1001 b; cow and heifer beef, 39s to 445. Yeal: A good yarding, which sold at late rates. Extra heavy runners made up to £lO 12s 6d : heavy suckers up to £6 10s: small ditto, 37s to 49s ; others, 16s to 28s.
Mutton : A medium yarding, and prices were equal to last week’s rates. Heavy wethers made up to 36s to 40s 6d; medium-weight ditto, 34s to 36s 6d ; light and unfinished, up to 32s 9d to 35s 6d; extra heavy fat ewes, up to 34s 6d ; medmm-weight-ditto, 26s to 345. Lamb: A large yarding, and prices were equal to late rates. Best heavy prime made up to 28s ; medium weight, 21s to 24s light and unfinished. 18s to 23s ; heavy shorn up to 22s ; medium weight shorn, 18s to 19s ; light and unfinished, 12s to 15s. Pork : A medium yarding, and prices were equal to last week’s rates. Baconers made up to £4 choppers, up to £6 7s 6d ; poncers 35s to 495; stores 18s to 28s; weaners, small, 8s to 15s.
