Sir, —Having read the letter from “ Not one of the 34,000, ” I come to the conclusion that I am dealing with someone that is not possessed with good powers of perception, or he would not have failed so miserably in grasping the meaning of my letter. As I do not intend to reiterate all my statements I will try to assist him in correcting a few of the blunders that he has made, in trying to wrest truth from my last letter. We will first come to the question of the multitude who are being continually carried away in the sway ot patriotism. They are dictated and enticed for thai purpose. The physcliology of the multitude constitutes an interesting but at the same time a depressing study. Singly, most men are sound in thought and safe in action. Aggregated in a crowd or multitude they very often lose their powers of control without a Hingle thought as to the power of their actions. This great drama of life is being played to its fullest extent and we can see from day to day, how humanity is caught in, the dizzy whirl. We are only too conscious of the realities of to-day, end w* wonder when the proper understanding will exist between nation and nation. That understanding wnich would be the means of altering our whole aspect of life and would also be the means of preserving universal peace throughout the world. I must now turn my attention to the the persons with mental obliquities for the purpose of “ Not one of the 34,000 ” He again admits there are a few with mental obliquities which enable them to view things from a different, and better standpoint.
