MINERS’ HALL—TO-NIGHT. Picture devotees are in for a good‘time this week end judging by the programmes to bo shown. Syd. Chaplin, the popular Keystone comedian, will appear in the star film to-night, which is entitled “ Gussies Day of Rest.” This comedy, which is 2000 feet long, is said to be a scream from start to finish. Syd. Chaplin, who is the renowned Charlie’s brother, has become very popular in Huntly and many patrons would just as soon see him as Charlie. A good supporting film will be shown consisting of a fine war drama entitled “ The War Baby” which concerns the life of a woman spy. The latest war pictures depicting life at the front, and the topical war budget will also be shown, whilst other good subjects supply the balance of a really popular programme. Patrons really should not miss seeing Syd. Chaplin. For this Saturday, the management will screen a renowned English production of city life entitled “ Lil o’ London.” This is a very powerfully constructed drama of London slum and society life .and contains a story that will charm and thrill the onlooker. A big supporting series of magnetic attractions will also be screened, amongst which are the latest Gaumont war graphic and a charming scenic entitled “ Picturesque California.” The comedy section is being well sustained by 4000 feet of the latest subjects, 3000 feet of which are choice Key stones. Of the two Keystones, one, entitled “ Hogans Aristocratic Dream ” is 2000 feet long, and the other is called “ Shot in the Excitement. Both are full of giggles laughs and roars. Seats should be booked at McNees to avoid disappointment. The usual midweek change of programme on Tuesday next.
