THREE ITALIANS DOWNED (Per British Official Wifeless.) (Received this day at 10.17 a.m.) RUGBY, December 3. An Athens message states that three Italian aircraft are reported to have been destroyed over the Albanian iront yesterday. HOSTAGES TAKEN. (Received this day at 12 noon). ATHENS, December 3. The Ministry of Public Security stated the retreating Italians carried off eighteen notables from the town of Epirus, including doctors, businessmen and teachers. Their fate is unknown. The enemy again bombed the defenceless town-of Corfu. Considerable damage was done. Greek newspapers reveal nvflnerons Italian prisoners have been taken at Corfu.
R.A.F. ASSISTANCE. TO GREEK GENERAL. RUGBY. December 3. (Received this day at 12.25 p.m.) The Air Ministry revealed that three R.A.F. bombers, of which only one returned. stopped Italians reforming their line and rushing troops in order to hold Korea. Bombings followed an appeal from the Greek General staff. The R.A.E. aircraft dived to within a few feet, of the ground and bombed and machine-gunned lorries and troops on the Pogradee-Tvoroa road despite n fierce ground fire.
