19 MINES

SWEPT UP IN BASS STRAIT. (Australian Press Association), (Received this day at 12.25 p.m.) CANBERRA. December 4. Nineteen mines have been swept up in Bass Strait since file two ships wore sunk there about three weeks ago. This was announced by the Minister of the Navy, Mr Hughes, who added that minesweeping was continuing.
