An Air Ministry communique Nhnliouiicemeiit on these raids, states'* “Last night, strong forces l of RtAoVk bombers made heavy sustained attacks ,011 shipping, barge concentrations;' f/iilitary equipment and stores, assembled in Channel ports; also on- distribution centres and lines of cq,mni;unication 'used, by the' enemy for the movement ; of supplies. “The ports of' Antwerp,: Flushing, Dunkirk, Calais, and, Boulogne were heavily bombed. Supply depots at iOsnabruck, Mannheim, Aachen, Hamm, Krefold' and Brussels were attacked!.;.also- rail communications at Elieine, Hans, Sundern, H listen and West,hofen. . “Our pilots and crews-pressed home attacks, in spite of severe weather and heavy opposition from ground defences,jv'fucli damage was done particularly co the docks at Antwerp.
“Gun emplacements at, Cape , Gris Nez? and several enemy, aerodromes were also bombed.
“One of our aircraft is missing.”
