The New Zealand Petroleum Co., reports the Morere Well was carried to a depth of 4,384 feet in hard sticky shale. The hole was "reamed 'to fLU size, to 4,367 feet. The' Midhirst well is now down 1,983' feet in bard sandstone. HORSE DRIVER’S CLAIM: AUCKLAND, September 12. ' A horse driver who suffered irtjiiry .to his he,i\d and legs in a motor accident on May 15 brought a claim against his employer, A. B. Wright and Sons, Limited (Mr West), before Mr'Justice O'Regan in the" Compensation Court yesterday. The plaintiff wab Arthur William Hawkins (Mr Hqigh)y who claimed that the accident arose out of and in the course of his employment, and that as a result he had been totally incapacitated until July 29.
