General situation: An anticyclone covers New while an extensive depression lies west of Tasmania. The forecast is lor light and variable winds and fine weather, but later northwesterlies prevailing and cloud increasing in the south. Temperatures cool, with, some morning fog or drizzle. Seas slight tm-moderate.
SHIPPING NOTES. The Pukeko is due at. Greymouth ■ to-morrow from Wellington to load coal for return. The Gabriell-i from Gisborne is due at'Grey mouth to-morrow morning to lo.pl for Miramar and Wellington. 7;: ■ The Poolta is expected .to leave Wellington to-morrow with cargo for Greymouth and Hokitika and on arrival at Greymouth loads for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne. The Kiwitea has also been delayed at Wellington by rain, and now leaves, there to-day for Greymouth to load coal for return. The Wahine in the WclliiigtonLvttelton service, will be recommissioned to leave Wellington on Saturday the 11th iust, in place of the Maori. The latter will withdraw from the service the same day.
