(Received this day .it 12 noon). • ROME July 9. A communique states at least fifty enemy armoured motor vehicles were destroyed in the last few days on the Cyrenaica front.

In Ealst Africa our aviation bombed enemy positions in Majir zone, Kenya, hitting an ammunition dump. *

Following bombing action by our planes, our troops raided Kurmuk in AngloEgyptian Sudan, destroying a radio station and munitions dump. The authorities referring to the Italian communique state: “With regard to the action which allegedly occurred on the Cyrenaica border, the Italian communique avoids mentioning that British armoured units operated sixty miles inside the Italian territory. The reported destruction of fifty cars is untrue. it exceeding the number .of British cars participating. During successful ' operations in this area British armoured units lost only three or for cars. ■
