UNREGISTERED
GERMANS AT FRISCO. United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph- -Copyright). LOS ANGELES, July 8. The United States Commissioner, Mr David Head, has recommened the District Attorney to charge Fritz Wiedmann, German Consul-General at San Francisco, with conspiracy, in connection with the case of Herbert Hoeline. a German citizen, charged with failure to register as a German agent.
Mr Head recommended the same action against “Mr Loeper,” said to be Chancellor at the German Consulate at San Francisco.
Mr Head said: “The facts show that Hoehne was personally delivering Consular mail to several Consulates. Widemann livst have known that Hoehne was unregistered as an agent of the German Government. It is my opinion that Wiedmann and Loeper committed an overt act, when they conferred with Hoehne, without reporting his presence hero.”
