The most eerie of the magic aids were built for the production by Lloyd Thayer, a Los Angeles scientist* Among the units which Niven used for his startling performances were a small . ' card table, which with a- wave of the Great Arturo’s wand, produced a cage filled with white doves, an ordinary looking chemist’s Trench that, transformed itself, with Arturo’s ..lielpy into an elaborate, lady’s dressing: table; a large sheet of clear plate glass from which Miss Young was made to disappear before the audience’s startled gaze, .and a-trunk from which she ■ vanished while under close observation—at the. magician’s will.
