OBJECTS OF NATIONAL SERVICE MOVEMENT. (Per Press Association—Copyright). AUCKLAND, June 17. The committee lof the National Service Movement decided, this morning, to appoint a sub-committee to draft an amended constitution, for submission to the general committee and members. The committee received with satisfaction, the Prime Minister’s statement that the Government was satisfied "the main object of the movement—a united nation under the direction of a truly representative Government—r-was bona fide. The committee says the statement has completely removed the impression that the movement has been inspired by party motives. \ MEETING ABANDONED. WELLINGTON, June 17. “I heard that the organisation has cancelled', its meeting on Monday, and I am very glad of the co-operative spirit shown by it,” said the AttorneyGeneral (Hon. H. G. R. Mason), after advice lmd been received from Auckland, that the National Service Movement had agreed not to hold its proposed meeting. “This action is consistent with what I felt was He essential desire of the executive of the organisation, even if it did pot, in my opinion, realise the possibilities of dangerous developments. I am ar>precintive of the snirit shown, and am sure that, on reflection the memberw'7.l find themselves able to mcl.-o simh adjustments to their organisation as will eliminate apprehension of dangerous developments.”
