RUSH OF RECRUITS. (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, May 21. A report from Canberra, to-night, states that the Australian War Cabinet lias ordered an acceleration in' tlie production of munitions and sup-, plies, and also the speeding up of all Australia’s major defence works. Recruiting in an intensified form, began in all parts of A'ustralia today, the seriousness of the overseas .developments providing an impetus for- wholesale enlistments. : ■ , Almost 1000 men have joined up in, Sydney to-day. Of these- 450 men went direct to camp in special motor vehicles that were provided by the military. INDUSTRIAL FRONT. SYDNEY, May 21.. ,;. Tlun Chief Judge of the Common-, wealth Arbitration Court, Sir George Booby, opened to-day a compulsory, conference of the. parties in the recent coal dispute. This conference is in accordance with the terms of tlie coal strike settlement. It is being -held in private*
