FOUND SHOT. (Per Press Association—Copyright). DUNEDIN, May 19. Suffering from a gunshot wound U. the forehead; George William Attfield, a married ■ mah, aged 37 years, a resident, of Allanton, was discovered at Brighton yesterday morning in a critical condition. He was admitted to hospital, where died 'at 8.16 p.m. FOOTBALLER BREAKS NECK. | DUNEDIN, May 19. When a serum collapsed during the course of the Kaikorai-Taieri Rugby game at Mosgiel, James Barron, aged 28 years, residing at East Taieri, received a fractured neck, necessitating his admission to the Dunedin Hospital. Barron is a well-known Otago i opresentative forward. ONE KILLED AND ONE INJURED AUCKLAND, May 19. A fatal motor accident occurred on the main Pokeno-Th'arheS highway on Saturday night, when a child died as the result of injuries received, and a man was severely injured. Details are: Dead: Murray Arthur Foote, aged II months, of Kaihere. Injured: Leslie Belcher,, aged 46, boot shop manager, of Thames. The car was (driven ;by George Foote*, of Kaihere, ; with his wife and child as passengers. The car collided with a car driven by Belcher. The child suffered shock and died after being taken home, but its parents were not hurt. Belcher was admitted to a private hospital at Thames,, suffering from a broken nose, several broken ribs, and a crushed chest FOOTBALLER’S DEATH. DUNEDIN, May 20. James Barron, 28, an Otago rperesentative ’footballer, injured in the Taieri-Kaikorai match on Saturday, 1 , died this morning. He played in last year’s northern tour. Many northerners will Temember how in games where he was not. chosen, he played the teams on to the field with pipes.
