OBITUARY

\\c regret to record the death of an old and esteemed resident of the town in the person of Mrs Hannah Maria Hall, of Revell Street, which took place at midday on Saturday. Deceased hadtbeen in failing health for a considerable time past. The deceased was a native of Thames and 71 years of age but had resided most of her life in Westland, and was twice married. For many years she was the popular hostess of the Occidental Hotel. Besides her husband, Mr John Vine Hall, she leaves a family of three daughters, (Mrs M. H. Houston, of Hokitika. Mrs Morris of Whakatane, and Mrs W. D. 0 f Ngaoroi, and three sons ('Fred Woodlouse of Hokitika, C. Woolhouse of •Ohakune and John Hall of Hokitika). A fourth son George Woolhouse lost his life in the Great War. Of a most generous, kindly nature, the d'>" + h of deceased vyi] Ibe deployed b\ a large circle of friends who will extend their svmnathv to the bereaved. The funeral took place this afternoon, the Rev. D. D. Thorpe conducted the services at All Saints’ Church and the graveside. The many friends of Mr J. McSherrv of Roehfort Street, Greymouth, will regret to learn of the death of his mother, which occurred at her residence 127 Grey Street, Palmerston North yesterday afternoon. Deceased had reached the great age of 92 years and had not been ill for any considerable time.
