The following bequests of a public character are made under the will of Mr A. S. Paterson, whose death occurred last week; University of Otago,. £5000; St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Dunedin, £500; Dunedin Public Art Gallery Society, incorporated, £1000; National Council of the Young Men’s Christian Associations of New Zealand (to bo applied for the particular work of that

Council), £1000; Dunedin Amen Dios and Town Planning Society, £500; Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, li'ee of duty, as- an endowment for augmenting by way of income therefrom, the inadequate salaries of ministers in the said church, £10,030. For the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, there ire the following legacies, in each case for the purpose of an endowment for, and so that tile income only shall be applied in aid of the objects mentioned in connection with such legacy ■ (a) For the Beneficiary Fund (aged a"d infilm ministers’ lund, and widows’ and j orphans’ fund) in connection with the I church, £15,000; (b) for Knox College, North Fast Valley, Dunedin, £.lO 000; (e) for the A.
