FRANZ JOSEF MEETING.
The annual meeting of the Franz Josef Women’s Institute was held on Thursday night; Mrs E. A. Gibb presiding over a good attendance of members. ' Competitions were won by the fol-. lowing:—Best bloom, Mrs E. A. Gibb 1, Miss L. Gibb 2/ Mrs P. Graham 3. Brown loaF Miss L. Graham 1, Mrs Barrett 2, Miss L. Gibb 3. A special competition wsa held for handwork done by members during the year, for a prize of 10/-. The judges, Mrs Morijce of Wellington, , and Miss Roberts of Dunedin, each gave 10/-, and awarded the prizes to Mrs L. Gibb, Mrs Barrett and Mrs F. Gibb equal. The following committee was elected —Mrs Paganini (President), Sister Menec (vice-president), Mrs Alex Graham (secretary), Miss Hestor Graham (treasurer), and Miss L. Graham. Twelve articles were selected to send to the Harihari Show. A pleasant evening was brought to a close with supper served by the retiring committee.
