HONE HEKE V. WESTLAND ASSN
The conditions at the week-end for the cricket match Hone Hcke (Denniston) versus the Westland Association team were very fine, and there was nothing to hinder the game, thus giving spectators a pleasant cricket. Denniston batting first-, made 85. The only double figure scores were made bv P. Allott 39, and Jeffries 11. Westland, in the first innings, rpade 92. The double figure scores were M. Baird 14, F. Parker 1(3, J. Peake 18, A. Johnstone 14, and A. Howat 17. G. MacFadven took six wickets for 44, P. Allott three for 34, and Lightbrown one for seven. G. Stapleton took three for 21, Neil five for 19, T. Henderson one for eight, F.. Parker one for five. Westland won by seven runs.
