i , The Koiterangi Patriotic Committee will hold a sale of goods in Weld Street to-inorvow for the.general fund. The country effort,is sure, to be \vell supported. The ladies of’the district are making a splendid response in the knitting of balaclavas, and the quota for, the town and country districts is nearly completed. Any surplus will be held over for the next consignment: The following is the list of balaclavas .sent in:—Hokitika Women’s Institute, 15; Mrs Ingram, 9; Nursing Homo; Mrs T.. Wells, Miss Norah.. Wells,, 4 each; Mrs T. Brown, Mrs A. OwepSj Mrs T.. Stuart, Mrs R, ,J. Appleton; anonymous, Nurse Maclem, Miss Bawden ; two each; Mesdames Cleland, Braddon, Ritchie, G. Perry, R. Wells, L. Hagar, Chesterman, Hart and Hoffmann, one each. Pairs of sox have been sent in by Mesdames H; Park, J. Coulson, and Carter, and Miss Bawden, one pair each. The last mentioned also supplied two skull caps, useful under tin helmets. Additional work is in hand with the country Women’s In : stitutes.
