OTTAWA, March 18

Observers here still predict that the Liberal Party will be re-elected to office, saying it will be due to the Leader of the Conservative Party, Doctor Manion, not. being able to convince the majority that his party is able ’to provide a. reasonably efficient administration.

Observers say the result will lie due more to that than to any enthusiasm for the Prime Minister (Mr Mackenzie King). The Toronto “Globe-Mail ’ says: 11ns is the" most unsatisfactory Canadian election within memory. The voters are confused and muddled. Hie Liberal Party is prepared to lose at least 20 of the 56 seats it holds in Toronto, and at least half of its 11 seats in New Brunswick. it- is also expected that Doctor Manion will gain in the provinces of Nova Scotia, Manitoba and British Columbia. However, as only ten out of tlie 05 Liberal seats in the Liberal stronghold of Quebec arc doubtful, . the Liberals are confident that Doctor Manion has no hope of securing a. majority. ______
