NEW PLYMOUTH, March 19.
David Weichart,. an American geor physicist, employed by an oil prospecting company in Taranaki, jumped 12 feet 4 1-8 inches in a pole vault to-night at sports held by New Plymouth Athletic Club, of which he is a member.’ The previous best performance in New Zealand was 12 feet 3 inches by' aii Austrnli'’n, E.? J. Winter, at Napier, at 1936.
