A MAN KILLED
ANOTHER LEVEL CROSSING. FATALITY. (Per Press Association —Copyright). AUCKLAND, January 4. A man was killed and a woman seriously injured when a small motor-car was struck by a local train on the level crossing on Pukekohe-Paerata road, at 10.20 this morning. The man was John Boyd Marshall, of Grahams Beach, Waiuku, aged about 60. The identity of the woman is not yet known. It is stated that neither the train nor the car was travelling at a fast pace. The smaller vehicle was carried a distance of 100 yards, and was reduced to a .twisted mass of wreckage* The woman was thrown some distance from the point of impact, r while Marshall, who was driving, was taken from the wreckage of the car ten minutes later. The injured woman was taken by ambulance to the Auckland Hospital.
