ARMED ROBBERY
TWO YOUNG MEN SENTENCED. (Per Press Association —Copyright). v \ WELLINGTON j Sept. 26., Commenting that the crime, robbery under arms, had been rare in New Zealand, compared with Australia and tjio United States, and that the Court did not want it to start in this country, Judge Reed sentenced John McDonald, aged 21, to two years reformative detention, and Horace Timothy O’Connor, aged 18, to two years detention in Borstal. He remarked the prisoners had been in New Zealand only a short., time, and were not making a very good start. Flogginglmight have been advisable, but. with the prisoners of their age the Court always, ed to leniency.
