POTATO PRICES. DUNEDIN, September 25. Merchants express some indignation at Canterbury potato growers tirade against dealers handling Californian and Canadian potatoes, for they assert the growers deliberately withheld supplies to force high prices and it was only when the Government arranged for the importation that farmers suddenly remembered their stocks. In other words, merchants claim the growers are hoist with their own petard.
