The Auckland Masteri Grocers’; Association has advised its members that, until further notice, sugar is to be rationed in maximum quantities of 41b. Customers should not be given the maximum quantity if their average purchases are less.

A circular issued by the association states that any customers obviously attempting to hoard goods should be given the treatment they deserve. Grocers are requested to purchase sugar through the usual channels, and not from merchants from whom they have riot been in the Habit of obtaihLigUi'iip- 1 olios. Grocers are reminded that it n an offence to hoard goods. They are asked to display, in a prominent position, the appeal to conserve: sup-. plies issued by Mr F. R. Pieot, the Food Controller. Tf this is not satisfactory,. some other system will have to be instituted.
