SILENT NAVY
ADMIRALTY STATEMENT. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright;. (Received this day at 10.30 a.m.). LONDON, Sept. 6. The Admiralty states it should be realised it is not always desirable to publish details of destruction or damage to enemy submarines. Therefore it should not be assumed that no successes had been achieved. Mr Butler, in the Commons, said German bombing in Poland was goiurally aimed against military objectives. There were some civilian, casualties. The use of gas had not been reported officially. The Ministry of Information announced further extensive flights over Germany, when more leaflets were dropped. The ’planes were not engaged.
