NEW PARTY LEADER CHOSEN

Mr J. T. Lang’s 17-year reign as the official Leader of the Now South Wales Labour Party ended to-day, when, in the first caucus ballot for thirteen years, be was displaced by Mr W. J. McKell, who was Minister of Justice in the?, former Labour Ministries.
Mr J. Heffron, the other candidate for leadership, secured only seven votes. The voting was as follows: Mr W. J. McKell ... 20 ■■ Mr J. J. Lhng 12 Mr J. Heffron ... ... 7
-- Mr McKell is 47 years of age. He ,lias represented Redfern constituency continuously for seventeen years. He was originally a boilermaker.
