In the Magistrate’s Court at Greyluoutli, yesterday, before Mr Raymond Ferner, S.M., Jack Everard Lowe was charged with failing to give way to traffic on the right, at the corner of Albert and Guinness streets, on July 21. Defendant, who did not appear, was fined £1 with costs. Arthur Alderton, who pleaded guilty to a similar charge arising out of an accident on the same corner, on July 29, was also fined £1 with costs. William:; Thomas Crawley Meadows was charged with the disobedience of a maintenance order, requiring him to pay £1 per week for the support of two children, the arrears to July being £59/2/6. Defendant was convicted and sentenced to six weeks’ imprisonment with hard labour, the warrant to be suspended as long as defendant pays, in addition to the current order,- 2/6 per week off the arrears.
