SPECIAL COMMAND. ;> (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, July 30. The creation of a National Emergency Co-ordination Committee, representing all of the Government Departments, and of special committees a'ssoeiattd with National Planning, was announced by the Prime Minister, lion. R. G. Menzies. The new body will be called the Standing Committee on Co-ordination of International Action on the outbreak of war. Its duties will be to elaborate a system for co-or-dinating the action of the defence services, and the Commonwealth Departments’, and the State Government activities on the occurrence of strained relations, or of an outbreak of war. Tiie Minister of Defence said that this committee would he the supremo over-riding authority in the event, of war. SERVICE CONDITIONS. MELBOURNE, July 29,
The Minister of Defence (Mr Street) announced that the Nava] Board had issued instructions, that during the spring ci nise, a general review of service conditions should be made. The review will include the questions of pay and allowances.
