.Jimmy Wong, a Cantonese student, possessing a. Japanese cast of features and speaking Japanese fluently, donned an officer’s uniform and accosted a Japanese sentry at the Nanchang airfield. He ordered that the outposts be withdrawn. This was carried out before dawn, thus enabling a successful attack by Wong’s battalion, which comprises the best night fighters in the guerilla army.

A serious financial crisis is impending in North China because of the steady decline in Federal Reserve Bank notes, which are quoted at more than 31 per cent discount. It is learned in London, that England and France have now been definitely informed that Japan is turning down the German offer. for an axis military alliance, provided Britain gives no guarantee to Russia regarding the Far East.
It is understood that Britain has intimated that negotiations with Russia did not concern the Far East.
