SALVATION ARMY COMMISSIONER
AUCKLAND, May 1. “In spite of international upheaval and uncertainty, the work of the Army goes on,” said Commissioner James Hay of the Salvation Army, who arrived at Auckland to-day by the Monterey. Commissioner Hay has now retired and has comelto the Dominion to conduct the territorial congress of the Army in New. Zealand, accompanied by Mrs Hay. He was in charge!of work here from 1910 to 1929 and said he was glad to be , back to see what progress had been made in TO. years. Since then he had gained much knowledge of Army work in other parts of the. world,' having been stationed in America, Canada and Australia. ■
