CHRISTCHURCH, February 16. An attack on the world record for the; 100 yards from a flying start is to be made by the American Olympic athlete, A. L. Fitch, at:the Canterbury amateur championships at Lancaster Park on Saturday. This wiTT be one of the principal attractions’at a meeting: that promises to produce some first-class racing. Tne programme will begin to-morrow, and will continue on Saturday. Fjiteh has run the 100 yards, from a f standing sta*t in 95 seconds.
