MINISTER PLEASED WITH SERVICE. (Per Press Association—-Copyright). WELLINGTON, December 2. Pleasure at the achievements of the Country Library Service to date_ and at the increasing response forthcoming from smaller towns and country , districts where the service is operating was expressed by Hon. P. Fraser in an interview to-day. The Minister said the Service now owned eighteen thousand volumes, most of which were at present in use in various parts of the Dominion. After outlining the work of the Service, the Minister said that, up to the present, it had been concerned only with providing for the needs of adults, but it was intended, as early as possible, to prolid\j similar facilities fftr juvenile readers.
