The Polar explorer told of this experience during a talk over national broadcasting stations yesterday. “We were travelling over a particularly desolate section of the Arctic,” he said. had been short "for weeks. “But our spirits rose when we came upon the body of a whale lying in the ice. “We set to work on it immediately, and did not stop to cook any of;the flesh. . .“Some days later we ,came upon a. white trapper, who said that he had killed the whale four years before.,”
