HOKITIKA LADIES!:CLUB. , L.G.U.—The Club Championship w.is won,by Miss.E. Cooke who: .defeated Miss M. Adamson (last year’s champion) 1 up. Good golf was played many of the holes being won., and, halved tin par figures. The match wa s squared for the first 8 holes,- Miss Adanison taking the fourth . with, a, 4. .Miss Cooke took the fifth with * a 4^—all square. At the sixth Miss Adamson found the rough with her second shot, .hnd the hole cost her 7 strokes to Miss’ Cooke’s 5. She was again in difficulties at the seventh hole after slicing b’adly and lost the hole 7—5. This gave Miss Cotoke a lead of two, which she' retained a,fter the Bth arid 9th holes had been halved/Miss Adamson wop the 10th, llth and 12th and took the dead 1 up. The 13th was halved and Miss Cooke 1 took the 14th with a birdie 2 and squared the match. The loth Was halved, Miss Adamson took the' T6fh' with a 4 again’ leading by one.- Miss Cooke took- the 17th with 1 a 5•, sqtfiaring the match aga,in. At •> the 18th, Miss Adamson pulled into the rough; and lost the hole with A 7 to'.: Miss Cooke’s 5, thus giving Miss . Cooke a lead of; one find the championship. Miss Cooke’s score for the 18 holes was 86. Miss Adamson’s 93. . •.
