Lee Martin (Minister of Agriculture), addressing a large gathering of farmers and factory managers of the East Tamaki Co-operative Dairy Factory to-dav, where a demonstration was held of the now system of butter manufacture by tli > vacuum process. Referring to the help given hv the Department to farmers, the Minister said the Department’s officers hitherto had been regarded as inspectors —“nosey porkers.” —.but the title had boo u altered and farmers should know that those officers who visited their farms were not inspectors but instructors.
