POULTRY CLUB

MEETING OF HOKITIKA SOCIETY. A meetiiKT of the Hokitika Poultry Club was held in the "Hortieinu.ral Hall last evening. Mr F. Ballinger presiding over a large attendance of members.'' Outward correspondence dealing with the forthcoming show to be held in the Soldiers' Hall on July 22 and 23, was approved.

Mr O. A. C. Frost, of the Corsair Social Club, advised that, an excusiou train would leave Christchurch on Saturday. July 23, for Hokitika, returning after the show.—llccievcd. Jeyes Fluid Coy., wrote donating a trophy for competition, also disinfectant for cages at show. —Recoited with thanks.

Mrs P. Cairns, Christchurch, wrote donating several trophies for the show, also a pair of budgerigars to be disposed of for the Club funds. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded All's Cairns for her generous offer.

South Island Poultry Association advised that the Victory Shield for most points in ten classes, had been allot ted to Hokitika this year. It was decided to place this handsome trophy on display in Air Ballinger’s, shop when it armed previous to the show.

The Association also notified that the following'Championships had been allocated to Hokitika : ■- X.Z. ni.gmpinnsliip: -Old English Game Bantam.

South Island Championships---Golden Wyandotte, open class; Utility Marred Plymouth Mock; Utility Pekin, drake or duck; Utility Indian Btinnor, drake or duck; Muffed Ttimbh r ’Pigeon; Blue Cobalt, or Mauve Budgerigar.

The following .Judges were appointed: Came classes. Mr f. Amberger, Koiterangi ; all other poultry and pigeons, Mr C. II Bradford, Christchurch; cage birds. Mr M, W, Thompson Christchurch.

Ihe schedule which is a comprehensive one dealing with all classes of poultry, pigeons, can a lies and budgerigars wtts approved, and may lie obtained on application to tin* secretary. The secretary reported that several members from C!reymouth had journeyed to Hokitika last, week, and he had dismissed with them many matters dealing with the show.
