■ Mr AV. Gilpin, of the Westland Forestry Department, has received notice of transfer to AVaihi where he will take charge of a plantation in that area. During his position on the staff here,' Air Gilpin has been in charge of the appraising of the forest timber areas throughout the district. On Tuesday evening, Mr Gilpin was met by the officers and members of Pacific Lodge _ and Air D. H. -Thomas presented him with a fountain pen and pencil.
