General inference. The last of the recent series of shallow' westerly depressions passed eastward last night. An anticyclone still covers the Tasman Sea hut has decreased in intensity. In the meantime, pressure has been falling rapidly over southeastern Australia.

The forecast is for moderate to strong southwesterly winds, decreasing to-morrow. A few scattered passing showers but weather improving. A mild day hut cold night temperatures. with some frosts. Seas moderate.
