<Per Pres* Association—Copyright!.
CHRISTCHURCH, April 27
Exerting his famous “octopus" clamp to such a degree that his opponent could not continue, Lofty Btomiield (16.8) to-night beat Joe Tonti (15.8) in a wrestling match that attracted a packed house. The hold was applied in the seventh round, and Tonti was obviously unlit to continue after he had been disentangled. > Until that time, Tonti, a clever and agile wrestler, more than held, his own in a fast and spectacular bout.
