... There wqs a narrow escape from a •drowning fatality on the seafront near Park Street .on Sunday afternoon. A young lad,,'Kenneth Fleming, son- of Mr R. Fleming, of Revell Street, got into difficulties.,,, while bathing. Mr Knapp, ol the Box Factory went to his assistance, Dpt was himself soon in difficulty and with some trouble reached the shore, The lad Fleming was assisted to the shore by bv Mr Pearce. "■
