ARAHURA VALLEY MEETINp.
Mrs R. Bradley presided over the usual monthly meeting of thri'Arahurft Valley W.J. on Wednesday last at the Qne Mile Hall, The meeting opened with the Institute song, and the roll call was responded to by “The day 1 like Uest and why.” The annual election of ; o>f?6ers took place, the result being as - follows— President, Mrs Clarke, vice-presiuent, Mrs R.'Bradley; secretary, Mrs Harcourt; treasurer, Mrs Roller, and all members to be on the committee. tonne was won by Mrs Martin, “a tea cosy” ( Mrs J. Bradley • 2nd, cushion", Mrs Hewlett 3rd "a knitting tidy.”. In the competition “best vas« of asters”. Mrs Finch 1. Mrs Clarke 2nd and. Mrs Hewlett 3rd. An arithmetical competition was won by Mrs Edwards, and a jumbled car ion was won by Mrs Harcourt. Mr Harris gave a most interesting and instructive account of his recent trip to Great Britain, telling of his experiences in Ceylon, India, Egypt, Malta and Marseilles of which places he had many snaps. All members listened with rapt attention, , thoroughly . enjoying the speaker’s stories, at the conclusion of which the President thanked! Mr Harris for his most entertaining'talk. ;Mr Harris said it afforded Mlh much pleasure to be present to recite his experiences which he would continue at some future date, time being very short at present. Mesdames; Dalgleish ’ and J. Bradley were the hostesses for the afternoon.
