CHURCH BURNT

A SPECTACULAR BLAZE. \Per Press Association—Copyright). MASTER TON, March 9. With flames shooting fifty feet into the air, fire this afternoon completely destroyed Knox Church and Sunday School, a large wooden building in Worksop Hoad, and did considerable damage to the roof o! the adjoining brick primary department. The fire, which was one of the most spectacular seen in Masterton in recent years, caused damage estimated at about 113,000. The tire had a strong hold when the Brigade arrived. Fireman Brannigaii was overcome hv heat and smoke, and hud to he taken to hospital. His condition is reported to he satisfactory. The destroyed building was insured for 111,500 and contents for £l6O.
