CABINET’S FATE HANGS IN THE BALANCE. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). (Received this day at 10 a.m.) PARIS, March 9. The fate of the Chautemp’s Government hangs on the outcome of today's meetings of Socialists and Communists, who are considering Cabinet’s demand for full financial powers. Opposition is coming from within the Popular Front, for . which reason it is possible M. Chautemps will not wait for the fiasco approaching in the Chamber of Deputies, and will resign as soon as it is certain he will be unable to command a majority. The basis of the opposition appears to be a disinclination to grant the Government dictatorial powers. The uncertainty is reflected in the Stock Exchange, the franc being subjected to strong pressure, and sterling rate reaching a new low level of 155}. UNREST GROWING. , PUBLJC IN DOUBT. (Received this day at 1.45 p.m.) PARIS, March 9 The Socialists have refused to grant the Premier, M. Camille Chautemps, plenary powers in finance. The resignation of Cabinet is regarded as certain. The British United Press says that M. Chautemps toid the Socialist leader, M. Sirolj that he intends to resign.
