D. PAGE WINS PAIRS

The (Vest Coast-Buller combined bowling tournament’ concluded on the Greymouth Club’s green on Saturday before a large attendance. The postsection pla.v provided keen interest; The greens were slow in the morning after the previous day’s rain, but quickly .improved. The pairs championship was won by AV. J. Dunkvp and D. J. Page (s) (Lyttelton), who defeated .H. McLean and A; Young (s) (ICS.A., Christchurch), 19—14 after a splendid game. It was a most popular win, as. this year’s, championships marked the sixteenth in succession that Air Page has participated in the West Coast tournaments, and it was his first success. He was heartily congratulated on his success and consistently good play throughout the tournament. Young’s (R.S.A., Christchurch) rink, consisting of B. 0. Priddis, H. McLean, J Olliver, and A Young, (s) took the honours in the rinks championship, when they defeated G. Craig, W. Henderson, S. Syme, and J. Armstrong junr. (s) (Runanga), 20—13 in the final, after a most thrilling game, in which the final bowl decided the issue in the last head. Runanga were lying the shot for a draw when Young drew wtih his last shot and the Runanga man failed. The trophies were presented by the president, Air F. D. WliTiley who congratulated the winners on their fine performances, and the participants in the tournament on the fine standard of play generally. Afessrs Young and Page replied. speaking highly of the conduct of the tournament and the condition of the greens. They wished’ the Centre every success, and stated that they would he back again for the next tournament. Results were:

Aoung 20, defeated Armstrong 18.
