ANGRY SCENE

SYDNEY, Sept. 20

During a succession of angry scenes in the State Assembly yesterday, the ■leader of the Opposition (Mr Dang) was challenged to make a statement outside the House.

Heated exchanges occurred during discussion of the bill to sanction the construction of a ne>v jetty at Pore Kembla.

Labour members protested when the gag was moved in committee. Mr Lang exclaimed: “This is the rottenest thing I have heard of.”

“Here is a map, which shows a railway to the jetty running right through private property,” said Mr Lang. “The whole thing is corrupt, like your Cronulla railway .”

“Say that outside, and see how you get on,” interjected Mr Monro (C.A.P., George’s River). Mr Lang: I'll say it outside or anywhere else you like.
