Stock markets continued to rally. Dealers report a steady volume, ol buying. It is considered unlikely that to-morrow’s settlement will disclose difficulties. The markets finished firmly .oils and mines closing the highest for the day. Paris and Amsterdam contributed to the general strength. City business people are hoping the panic is over.

At the wool sales 6519 bales were offered, including 3950 New Zealand ; 5031 were sold. A good selection with active competition for the best kinds, which showed a slight improvement. New Zealand greasy cross-bred P.A.N. 17s, average 16 3-B<l. Slipe half-bred lambs, 20d, avt-rage 19 3-Bd.

The directors of New Zealand Newspapers, Ltd., have declared an interim dividend for the half-year ended September 30. of 8d a share, equal to 4 ;>er cent.
