NEW TYPE OF BIBLE - LONDON. September 20. A new type or Bible, designed to be read as literature, will shortly be published by Heinemann’s with the approval of the King’s printers. It will be without chapters and verses, and certain of the “duller portions, such as the genealogies, will be omitted from the Okl Testament. There will he a rearranging of groups of books, beginning with histories, then verse and the prophets. Prose is being printed as such and verse ns verse, and the more dramatic parts in play-form. The authorised pans will be used throughout, except Proverbs, Job. Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, the revised version of which will” he used. The new Bible, it is understood, will be'similar to a volume published in America earlier in the year.
