AIR RAID DEFENCES BERLIN, September 20. The 'city is pitch dark to-night, although theoretically after the days air raid, all buildings in the Wilhelm Plat?., including the propaganda Ministry and Chancellery are burning fiercely, but the Press claims the capital is adequately protected from air raids. It declares that “Archies” and chaser planes succeeded in almost neutralising the effects of the attack. Passengers in trams and buses to-night, were unable to see the faces of those opposite. Severe traffic jams occurred in the shopping centres. ABBEY REOPENED RUGY, September 20.
