Brigadier-General Henry Denhardt a well-known politician and soldier, whose trial, on the charge oi murdering Mrs Vera Taylor, his fiancee, two months ago, has roused national interest. was shot dead by three assailants. while he was strolling down the street with his attorney. It is believed that members of the woman’s family took revenge in this fashion, typical of Kentucky feudists. The jury at the first trial were unable to reach a verdict. The second trial was scheduled lor to-da\. The assailants were afterwards captured. The a-ithoi'Tties later viinoimced it was the late Mrs Taylor’s three brothers who had been arrested.
